Monday & Tuesday, July 16th & 17th - Camp will be held on the high school practice fields. Seniors and Juniors will meet from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. and Freshmen and Sophomores will meet from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday & Thursday, July 18th & 19th – All day Camp at Yukon Trails (9th – 12th grade). Start time is 9:00 a.m. We will finish at 8:00 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided. This is a very important camp! It will go all day, have multiple sessions, cover very important offense and defensive schemes and include flag football.
Mandatory Parent and Players meeting – Tuesday, July 31st 6:00 p.m. at Mauston High School. Forms and fees can be turned in this night.
Wednesday, August 1 – Equipment Handout and 1st day of practice. All forms and Physicals/Alternate year cards must be turned in before a player can practice.
Friday, August 10th – Scrimmage for ALL Levels @ West Salem.
Friday, August 17th – First Varsity Football Game Home vs Tomah.
The Golden Eagle Youth Football Club provides an opportunity for youth in the Mauston School District, including Mauston, Lyndon Station and St Patricks, an opportunity to participate in 4th – 6th grade tackle football.
Who may participate? Youth from the Mauston School District, including Mauston, Lyndon Station and St Patricks, entering the 4th – 6th grade may participate in the youth tackle football program.
What is the Cost and what equipment do I need for my child? The cost for tackle football is $75 for registration. Golden Eagle Youth Football will provide all mandatory equipment for the 4th-6th grade tackle program. Players will be provided with a helmet, all pads (NEW* girdles will be provided), mouth guard, practice and game pants, uniform and practice jersey and yellow game socks. A T-shirt will also be provided. You will need to purchase your own cleats. A $50 deposit check is required for any equipment to be issued to your child and will be returned at the end of the season when equipment is turned in.
Registration: All registration will take place on-line again this season. There are no exceptions to registering your child online. The on-line registration window will be open from May 1st –May 31st for students of the Mauston school district, including Mauston, Lyndon Station and St Patricks. Parents/ Guardians may register their players at www.maustonfootball.com during this time period. If 25 man rosters are not full by then, registration will open up to other Juneau County School Districts from May 21st– May 31st.
Parent/Player Meeting: Thursday, August 2nd, 2018 at Mauston High School. The 6th grade meeting will start at 5:30, 5th grade 6:30 and 4th grade is at 7:30. The $50 equipment deposit will be required that night. Players will be weighed and equipment handed out at this time. Season information and rules will be discussed.
Practice: The first practice for 5th and 6th grade will be on Monday, August 6th. The 4th grade will start on Monday, August 13th. Practices will be Monday – Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Starting August 27, practice will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Coaches: Any person who is interested in coaching may fill out a coaching application form at www.maustonfootball.com. Coaching applications must also be completed by May 31st. Coaches (including returning coaches from last season) who would like to coach in the tackle football league must also complete the USA Football Heads Up Tackle Certification program. The information will be emailed to you once your application form is completed. The Golden Eagle Youth Football Club will cover the cost of the certification program. All coaching applicants (4th – 6th grade) must agree to the coaching code of conduct as well a go through a standard background check. This will be done through the application process and the Golden Eagle Youth Football Program will cover the cost of the background check.
Parent Involvement: We encourage anyone who is interested in becoming more involved with the Golden Eagle Youth Football Club or serving as a board member to attend our next board meeting which will be held on May 15, 2018 at 6:00pm at the Stonefield Apartment Complex’s community room at 400 Stonefield Circle, Mauston. It is not a huge time obligation and we need ideas, assistance and commitment from the community in order to run a well-structured and successful youth football program.
